Photos 2024 Cunning Mr. Fox and 2024 maintenance jobs.
In the Winter of 2023-24 the green was damaged by a fox, so the electric fence along the flower bed was reinstated and a licensed Fox trapper provided a trap. A wild life auto camera took these photos and the fox took the bait several times, and licked the cat food cans clean, and even moved them from the cage, but the trap failed to actuate! The next attack was from birds, so our grounds man advised in the very cold week of January and later in the month.
Storm Gerrit's high winds in late December brought down the Banner.. Sorry Jean and Laurence. It was decided not to replace it, fortunately as the next storm Isha would have done the same in January.

Rackham and Wartenby Cup V Harrow Weald BC. 15 June 2024
On yet another cold and wet day the match was played at Harrow Weald's Green. It was good to see the the club reinforced by an intake when West Harrow closed
We had two losing rinks and two winning with a final score of 64 to 63 in Stanmore's favour. The match turned when Gigi, Gerald and Frank's triple took 7 shots on the 16th end. Frank played out of turn and H.W.'s skip let the bowl remain and played 2 bowls, rather than remove it, an option he had from rule 47. We held 5; their skip promoted Franks errant bowl and Frank drew the 7th. The remaining 2 ends gave us an overall win if we did not drop more than 3 shots. We dropped only 2.
