Birds attack and Crane fly larvae

In mid July we realized that the damage to the Green from birds seeking food and making 100s of tiny pecks
was due to them seeking the larvae of the crane fly the eggs of which were laid in autumn 2023, 
Professional advise was to cover the green, rink by rink overnight.
This draws them to the surface so they could be removed.
